"The Sewer in the Backyard"
Technique: Oil, Liquin & Varnish on canvas
Size: 50 x 40 inches
Year: 2023
The painting is a personal and contemporary review of the Myth of Odysseus and Medusa. The relationship between the symbols here for me is fundamental, Medusa in a sewer is a reminder of how much and easy we forget ancient history an their teachings, how difficult is in the contemporary world to revisit ancient wisdom and the perks that provide. But forgotten doesn’t mean death, because even from the sewer, the old traditions watches you.
